Volunteers sought by CoderDojo Belgium

CoderDojo Belgium organizes free IT workshops (do-it-yourself classes) for boys and girls from 7 to 18 years. A Dojo is fully prepared and given by volunteers. That is why we are always looking for motivated volunteers! You can help with an existing Dojo as a cook or a coach.

A cook does not need any technical knowledge, as you provide administrative and logistical support. This will take care of the registrations, answer questions from parents, receive the participants at the start of a Dojo to set up tables and chairs and take care of the snacks and drinks.

In addition, CoderDojo Belgium is constantly looking for coaches to guide young people during the Dojo. We do not require a diploma, but a passion for ICT, some educational skills and a great deal of inspiration and learning for young people. Enthusiasm, involuntary effort, a lot of interest and enough knowledge to share is much more important to you than your background.

We expect this from coaches:

Passion for IT and / or technology and the 'goesting' to convey to others
Patient and accessible
No 'lesson', but someone who helps the children to discover themselves
Time and purpose to free you up to 3 hours a week at the weekend and volunteer to make children of the world of programming and technology enjoyable
Specialization in a specific domain (programming language, web development, Arduino, Scratch) is nice but certainly not necessary
