Leen Verheyen: Free text material


Leen Verheyen is a theater maker, author and teacher. She wrote theater texts for companies such as Villanella, HETPALEIS and Luxembourg and also directed her own performances. In addition, she also started a course in philosophy in which she obtained a doctorate.

Theater

For adults / young people

  • Parking Lot Blues (2008): two players, a woman who confronts the man who killed her daughter a few months earlier.
  • Human Interest (2009): two monologues that intertwine and enter into dialogue, interspersed with music about school shootings and mass shootings.
  • Autoroute du soleil (2010): two monologues that occasionally interact, two characters tell the story of a man who goes abroad with his daughter after a confrontational divorce.
  • Smallfilm (2011): monologue on the phenomenon of so-called altruistic infanticide. A girl aims her video camera at her neighbor's window. And looks. An insane universe reveals itself.

For young audience

  • Usually it rained (2009): text for children from 8 years old about a boy who creates a whole world out of cardboard and a girl who tries to get wide.
  • Sarie, my friend Kaspar and I (2009): text for preschoolers about a seemingly innocent sleepover that turns into a dangerous game.
  • Lost: text for children from 5 years old in which all kinds of absurd situations arise when suddenly all words appear to be lost.
